It seems to rain when a person goes camping so the tarps/rope/ground sheets can be used to fashion outdoor shelter as 4 people in a small tent for several days can get ugly. Keeping dry is the biggest challenge, especially after doing all the work of getting everything ready- no one really wants to go home (except the parents or any sane people along with you!)
The lawn chairs keep you out of the mud and toasty around the fire, and you cna have a challenging but amazing experience with your kids!
